hospitals, Doctors, Olive Oil and friends

Ahhhhhh.  Finally back home after 5 nights in Siena hospitak with my boy.  Ashtma related bronchial pneumonia crept up on us and stole a week of our lives.  Thankyou to all my lovely friends and family for their help, and mostly I must thank the dr's for spotting this when I didn't. I have totally realigned my priorities this last week and the time spent watching the boy on oxygen and attached to tubes has allowed me to clearly think where we need to be and what we need to be doing.  So happy to be home again with my clan x  I love Italy, our hospital meals came with olive oil and parmesan as standard, nothing gets in the way of good wating here.

Blighty part 2

Well I promised myself I would record our travels but had no idea it would take me this long to actually do it.  Once we had made it through the snow and ice to Somerset we then had to set off early from GG's to Devon for work meetings.  The country lanes were hideous and I had forgotton how scary the high hedges can be, as I am uses to Italian roads now (fast, windy, high).  Having got the work stuff done, we headed for the coast to see my other Grandma, the kids had a rare treat - fish and chips and we spent the afternoon with family, which always makes me feel sad when I go as I wonder if Nanny will be around when I next get to the UK.  The following few days were spent in a whirlwind of travel, friends and family, birthday parties, drunken evenings, beautiful countryside, sea views, fabulous food, the zoo, christmas shopping, nativity scenes and finally the last leg of our journey to venice.  I can't describe how wonderfully welcome our friends made us feel, feeding us up, forcing us to drink heaps of wine, and generally keeping us warm in the freezing depths of the West Country.  Thanks to all, we miss you all lots and hope to see you here in Tuscany soon x
